On the 8th November Surfing Bird Adventures held their second Yoga and Surfing Day. This time it was just for the Ladies and was based in the Gower, Swansea, South Wales.
The day was a success starting with Guy from Llangennith Surf School getting all three ladies standing up and surfing their way to the beach – despite the wind! Some of the girls had been surfing before and they were given techniques and tips to progress and bring confidence back to their surfing.
Lunch was a tasty warm vegetable soup with bread and drink enjoyed at the Bay Bistro in Rhossili before heading to Llangennith Hall where the yoga was held. The ladies enjoyed a 2 hour yoga session including information on the benefits of yoga for surfing, yoga breathing, asanas (postures), relaxation and a short meditation.
One of the girls said they enjoyed ‘all of it plus meeting great like minded people’ and another said they enjoyed ‘meeting new people and trying surfing for the first time! Loved the Yoga too!’
After another successful Yoga and Surfing Day, Surfing Bird is looking to organise several more of these days throughout South and West Wales as well as South West England through out 2015. Watch this space!
Any new Yoga and Surfing Days will be under the Adventures tab.
